Develop and execute new and innovative community engagement programs that provide the community at-large with cancer education and information to better understand and connect to research at Masonic Cancer Center
Establish and maintain constructive and engaged working relationships and act as a liaison between MCC and community partners
Research and develop deliverable and culturally sensitive programming to underserved populations
Support the current and existing programs the MCC Office of Education and Community Engagement participates in such as the MN State Fair, annual symposiums, and MN Science Museum exhibit
Assist Education & Community Engagement staff and management in the coordination of provider & nurse recognition program for MCC staff and potentially community partners
Work collaboratively with Program in Health Disparities staff on community engagement cancer initiatives
Work with other staff and management to ensure that deliverables are met according to agreed upon expectations
Work collaboratively with Program in Health Disparities staff to plan, coordinate, and execute summer cancer disparities internship programs
Provide administrative support for CURE internship recruitment process, intern selection, and mentorship coordination.
Develop, plan, coordinate seminars, program logistics, for CURE high school and undergraduate internship
Develop, coordinate, and implement the activities of the trainee development program
Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis
Event Coordination - 30%
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, venue research; budget development; expense tracking; food and beverage; ancillary event management; registration services; team communication; A/V coordination; speaker management; event logistics; branded merchandise; vendor partnership; lead generation and reporting; and post-event analysis.
Effectively communicate with vendors to identify cost-savings opportunities
Work alongside communications and team to creatively promote programs, develop promotional media, flyers, and public service announcements
Administrative - 10%
Maintains complete and accurate event and program reporting documentation
Create event budgets and track spending
Maintain methods of outcome measurement and program evaluation tools to inform current and future programs
Completes administrative tasks related to program execution and implementation

A bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience to total 4 years
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively via oral and written communications
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving history suitable to drive on university business. A background check is required for this position including checking driving record
Willingness to occasionally travel in the state and work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
A bachelor’s degree in humans services, social work, or public health
Experience and demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, communities and organizations
Experience working with diverse and immigrant communities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in-person and online
Demonstrated capacity for independent, proactive judgment and problem-solving while working in a collaborative environment as a team member and problem solver
Experience in using technology for communication, information-gathering, program delivery and/or reporting. Advanced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access & Powerpoint), and/or internet-based collaboration tools
Experience working in an environment with multiple stakeholders and interests, managing multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Experience in group facilitation and making public presentations.
Ability to vary schedule/hours worked per week on occasion
