We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a FGP Billing Rep (35).
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing billing services for all patients affiliated with the NYULMC Fertility Centerusing the on site billing management software. Organizing daily patient billables generated byphysicians, nurses, or laboratories. Responsible for collections and posting of charges, replying topatient and insurer inquiries, understanding nuances of billing complicated cyclical procedures, able tocomprehend fee schedules, answering phones, preparation of billing information for insurancesubmittal, obtaining and documenting insurance pre-authorizations and pre-certifications andfacilitating physician and patient administrative billing needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Participate in trainingactivities forregistration, billing,charging and all officeresponsibilities.
Demonstratecommunication skills:using appropriatevocabulary andgrammar whenobtaining andconveying informationto physicians, nursesand staff at variouslevels; in person,over the phone, inwriting and inelectronically sentmessages.

Obtain and copy, toappropriate parties(insurer and patient)supportingdocumentation forpayment processing
Post surgical chargesand other physiciancharges as permedical record.
Collect administrativeand financialdocuments frompatients related toidentification,consents, directives,waivers.
Initiate and follow upon collection ofpatient accounts viaphone and writtencorrespondence.
Ability to verifybenefits and interpretinsurance mandatesfor basic, advancedand specialized ART.
Appropriately entercharges for allphysician andlaboratory servicesrendered at the NYUFertility Center.
To qualify you must have a Experience as a medical biller -1 year experience. Complies with regulatory requirements (i.e. JCAHO) appropriate for position. Experience andcompetency with varied computer hardware and software, including billing software, ACH processing,banking procedures, word processing, spreadsheet, database, communications applications. Writingskills to compose and edit logical, detailed, comprehensive and grammatically correct correspondence.Knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 diagnosis coding. Able to relate contract requirements regardingauthorizations, referrals, allowables, exclusions. Skill in communicating with patients with diplomacyand tact. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to handle matters of highly confidential andsensitive nature. Ability to recognize and identify problems, recognize implications and proposealternative solutions. Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner. Skill inworking independently and in following through on assignments with minimal direction.
AAS or similar degree.Medical coding and terminology knowledge At least1 year related experience with preference in an infertility office or gyn office
