Required Qualifications: (Evidenced by an attached resume) Bachelor's Degree. Three years of applicable full-time programming experience in object oriented languages, database management systems and structured query language (SQL).Two years of applicable full time experience with data integrations using Web services, APIs or other technologies. Knowledge of software development practices (eg: agile, source control, documentation, testing and QA). Ability to analyze problems and to formulate and design solutions, gather business requirements, and communicate clearly with clients. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as PeopleSoft 9.X or similar. Experience with PeopleSoft Application Engine, SQR, XML Publisher, Application Packages, Workflow, Integration Broker, Component Interface, PeopleSoft Query, PeopleCode or other Application Designer objects. Knowledge of Financial Planning, Budgeting and Financials functionality in software systems and/or Experience working in an academic and/or research institution. Experience with Project Management (PMBOK) and change management principles. Experience developing Crystal Reports. Brief Description of Duties: Provide technology services to Stony Brook University in support of the systems that run the Human Resources, Financial, Student Systems, Research Administration and other Administrative functions of the university. Responsible for business analysis, application design, programming, troubleshooting, problem resolution, maintenance, and documentation of applications, interfaces, and reports as well as selection, analysis, configuration and maintenance of Software as a service and/or hosted applications. The incumbent will collaborate with their colleagues in other DoIT departments including, but not limited to Systems and Client Support to ensure reliable and effective delivery of computer applications to the campus community. Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Extend PeopleSoft functionality using tools such as Application Engine, SQR, XML Publisher, Application Packages, Workflow, Integration Broker, Component Interface, PeopleSoft Query. PeopleCode and other Application Designer objects as needed. Collaborate with other Division of Information Technology staff to ensure effective maintenance, troubleshooting, problem resolution, management and support for systems and applications. Employ standards to ensure data accuracy, security and privacy of information to which incumbent has access as a result of their duties. Advise management of potential breaches of data and systems security. Assist users in accessing and utilizing their data. Manage all work; tracks tasks and issues using JIRA Document applications, reports, and interfaces to describe program objectives, use cases, development, logic, coding, configurations, corrections, and other elements required to ensure others have sufficient information to support. Plan, analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain custom applications and reports including coding, testing, debugging and installing. Design, build and maintain complex data integrations between University systems, while ensuring data security and integrity. Coordinate integrations to help streamline business operations. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission. Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. Some night and weekend work may be required.
