Hagerstown Community College is pleased to announce that applications are currently being accepted for a Research Assistant for Cybersecurity Programs position.
The Research Assistant is responsible for administrative details related to HCC’s partnership with the four-year institution through which research opportunities for undergraduate students will be offered. This position is also responsible for ensuring that business partnerships and internships related to the Cybersecurity program are tracked and that the business partnership network grows, as well as for ensuring that lab specifications and maintenance are sufficient for course-related and research-related projects. In addition, the research assistant will work with high school representatives to create, promote, and manage cybersecurity competitions.
Education and experience - Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field required. Preference given to candidates that have experience and/or industry certifications in cybersecurity. Experience in higher education is ideal.
Skills and abilities- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task; proficient computer skills, specifically in work processing and spreadsheets, Access databases and Microsoft Project; strong ability to work with others in a team environment in a collegiate manner; ability to communicate effectively orally (in both one-on-one and small or large group presentations) and in writing; ability to deal tactfully and professionally with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, and community contacts.
