The Technical Systems Manager [TSM] is responsible for the administration, management, support, maintenance, and internal consulting for a wide variety of hardware and software IT resources that are used by the personnel in the Office of the General Counsel [OGC] and NU Police Department [NUPD] areas.
Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in Computer Science or a related area and 2-5 years of commensurate experience. Extensive experience with using and troubleshooting MS Windows based personal computer systems including peripherals. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP/7 administration and troubleshooting required as well as experience with the entire suite of Microsoft applications (MS Office), Microsoft Outlook and database query languages/tools (e.g. MS Access, SQL). A strong understanding of the fundamentals of Local Area Networks and networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP) and experience with LAN management is needed. Understanding of basic concepts of data privacy and system security. Familiarity with privacy laws and regulations is beneficial.
