The Multispecialty Procedure Unit (MSPU) is a multidisciplinary clinical practice which includes Cardiac Cath lab, Interventional Radiology and Gastroenterology. The MSPU scheduling supervisor provides daily leadership and operational direction to the PAS for the MSPU procedural services. The MSPU supervisor is responsible for the PAS personnel management and operational leadership for all aspects of patient scheduling, including Care Management, to ensure coordination and development of smooth flow of services and an excellent level of customer service. The MSPU supervisor will work with Procedural, Operating room and Anesthesia leadership to improve patient experience, adhere to regulatory standards and implement and lead OPEx initiatives including daily management systems. The MSPU supervisor will lead strategic initiatives regarding referring provider relationships and service, as well as, serve as the main point of contact for patient service issues.
The MSPU supervisor manages the complex functions and relationships between all stakeholders related to improving the patient experience, standardizing the work across practices and facilitating/implementing projects that will achieve the aforementioned. This position will work as a subject matter expert related to patient care systems and processes, providing technical assistance, training, data production and analysis.
Additionally, this position will manage relationships throughout the organization to maintain a high level of engagement. It is imperative for this employee to be able to work independently and with all levels of employees in the organization. This position must keep abreast of changes in programming, improvements and best practices in the field with application to the patient experience. Analyzes organization performance to identify gaps in alignment with best practices and recommend strategies to establish OHSU as a leader in these areas.
This position reports to the OR/Procedure Scheduling Manager and has a dotted line relationship to the management teams for Cath Lab, IR, GI, PCU and Diagnostic Imaging.
Bachelors degree in Health Care Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
(Associates degree + 2 years supervisor experience or 4 years supervisory experience) Must have educational plan in place if requirements not met.
Recent medical scheduling experienceAdministration or oversight of an on-going project or program
Customer service experience or patient centered care experience with strong service recovery skills
Experience with reporting and quantitative and qualitative analysis
Must demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication, customer-focus and problem solving skills
Pleasant, outgoing demeanor, with excellent judgment
Evidence of detail oriented work and superb organizational skills
Ability to work as a team member at a high level in a large organization
Monday Friday 8-4:30PM; overtime and weekend work as needed, determined by Manager
Standing/sitting numerous hours a day; numerous hours of computer use; multi-line phones and multiple demands/interruptions in work
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Bachelors in a health science field
2-5 years PAS experience and direct patient contact in procedural or surgery setting
OHSU OPEX/Lean Initiatives
Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, or performance improvement experience
Academic medical group experience
Experience with EPIC or other patient information software
Experience with Press Ganey programs and surveys, Epic, access initiatives, Cognos, Aceyus strongly preferred
