We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Plumber Mechanic.
Under the supervision of a shop manager, this position perform the duties peculiar to and normally required in the trade of plumber, following accepted procedures of the plumbing trade.
Responsible for inspecting all pumps and motors. Troubleshoots pumps problems. Capable of installing or replace pumps. Capable of obtaining and retrieving information from catalog in order to order pumps and parts as requested by foreman and management.
Capable of using power drills. Capable of using small and large measuring tools. Capable of using pipe wrenches, adjustable wrenches, vise cutting tools, treat tools and grinders. Capable of using wrenches of all sizes.
Maintain appropriate records, inventory, etc. Maintains shop inventory to provide adequate supplies to perform continued maintenance of Medical Center. Submits all completed documentation of preventive maintenance to managers and work orders to stockroom for input onto database.
Maintain and repair other equipment. Responsible for the maintenance and replacement of bearings, shafts compellers on all mechanical equipment throughout the Medical Center. Coordinates seasonal overhaul of equipment with supervisor. Maintains and inspect all Medical Center steam expansion joints. Work with refrigeration engineers to maintain related plant equipment, which will include troubleshooting and repair.
Operates, repairs, tests and maintain all pumping equipment, using necessary hand tools and testing equipment. Operates and repairs all types of pumping equipment such: (centrifical, split casing and suction, vertical vacuum and condensate pumps. Properly align motors, pumps, shafts, gearboxes and couplings. Properly repack pumps seals and change mechanical seals.
Must have five years experience. Trade or vocational school graduation shall reduce the requirement to four years.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
