This position is based in the Vanderbilt Institute for Medicine and Public Health (IMPH), which was established as a university-wide entity with a goal to guide the institutionâs efforts at the intersection of medicine and public health. This role will be responsible for providing support for complex qualitative and quantitative research projects in public health and health services research or related disciplines. In this position, you will have an opportunity to perform overall coordination for the assigned program activities, track program planning and management, and report and manage data about the program. Activities may include study coordination, literature searches, data analysis, and report preparation. This role may also provide general support to other departmental programs, projects and coordinate dissemination of information and manage some larger, long-range projects spanning innovative research projects as well as various small to medium sized projects of varying time frames.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate research projects
Coordinate research project activities, timelines and events.
Coordinate program meetings with internal and external groups and centers.
Develop and communicate appropriate project documentation, including technical project overview, scope, team structure, status reports, issues management reports, meeting notes, etc. as required in a timely manner.
Support research investigators and senior research staff on multiple studies.
Support collaboration between team members, both internal and external to the department .
Prepare and execute portions of research projects in the areas of public health.
Report project development by tracking writing assignments and overseeing the editorial process.
Oversee, maintain and develop programâs electronic assets including website, databases, and emails.
Use external resources to supplement, organize, and contribute to tasks.
Establish program goals in accordance with the mission of the program.
Participate as a team member in designing and implementing program enhancements to improve effectiveness of the program.
Implement data collection and inquiry
Assist investigators access databases.
Use familiarity with federal and/or state healthcare measures and policy to conduct study-specific literature reviews and searches.
Collect, organize, and critically analyze data based on study goals.
Apply basic social science qualitative and quantitative research methods.
This position requires a Bachelorâs degree.
Preferred experience and skills include but are not limited to the following:
Masterâs degree in a related field
Bioinformatics, data analysis or data management
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent time management and planning skills
Proficiency with MS Office programs and ability to quickly learn new programs
This is a full-time position.
Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
