The Batte Center of Wingate University (Charlotte, NC area) seeks a fulltime, 12-month, salaried Operations Manager to establish and implement financial and operational procedures necessary to manage ticket sales, venue scheduling, and visitor services for a busy multi-venue department. This will require a dependable, self-motivated individual who can comfortably deliver a high level of service in a team-oriented creative work environment. The right candidate will be a flexible multi-tasker with solid financial skills and a good sense of humor. They should enjoy working in a dynamic, educational arts environment with frequent interaction daily with students, volunteers, vendors, patrons and university staff. Work schedule includes regular business hours and weekend and evening work.
Duties and responsibilities
Box Office Management:
Oversee all Box Office operations – processing single, season and group ticket orders in a timely and efficient manner. Establish procedures and policies that insure excellent level of service to patrons, subscribers, donors, volunteers and patrons with special needs.
Manage Box Office computerized ticketing system, set up events, reports and maintain accurate patron records.
Train and supervise student crew to create and maintain a positive, professional and user-friendly box office.
Work with Marketing on mailing lists, customer service and special sales programs.
Greet and direct walk-in traffic. Coordinate consistent window and phone coverage during business hours.
Fiscal Management & Reporting:
Purchasing, AR/AP, daily deposits, billing, settlements and financial reporting.
Create systems for tracking income and expense to assist staff in budget compliance and reconcile with University accounting. Insure accurate billing from vendors.
Maintenance and care of office systems and procedures.
Contract, lease and maintenance agreement administration.
Supervise and manage Volunteer program.
House management and event coordination duties as needed which requires the ability to climb stairs, bend, and twist, lift medium weight objects like tables and boxes and assist patrons.
Enforce theatre policies and procedures and implement safety/emergency procedures.
Assist Director in scheduling venue and events services.
And other duties as assigned by the Director of Cultural Events.
