The Information Technology Specialist will a)Manage Wagner’s IT operations including academic/instructional and business computing needs; b) Analyze and respond to the technological needs of the School and manage projects that meet those needs; c) Provide high–level troubleshooting for IT support issues and implement solutions; d) Manage the administration of systems migrations and security updates; e) Serve as primary training representative for the Information Technology department; f) Partner with consultants, vendors, and IT departments to resolve technical, operational and security needs.
Required Education: Bachelors Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Master of Science in Information Systems
Required Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience related to desktop support issues, software and hardware configuration, Active Directory administration, IT security software and database management. Candidate must have experience with Windows and Apple operating systems; virus and spyware protection; system memory and hard disk upgrades; software, scanner and printer installation; mobile device configuration; network and user account administration; endpoint security management with Dell Kace; and Windows back-up, recovery, and restoration.
Preferred Experience: Experience with Amazon Web Services platform.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to effectively integrate and manage complex projects. Capacity for flexible thinking with excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of hardware, software, database management, and networking is required along with working knowledge of endpoint management software, Active Directory, and emerging technologies. Strong team leadership and management skills including the ability to analyze trends and make recommendations. Excellent customer service, communication and relationship building skills with multiple constituencies.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with Amazon Web Services platform to back-up data and host virtual servers. Experience with virtualization software (Hyper-V), SQL, Salesforce, and Drupal CMS.
