Matriculate seeks a driven candidate to serve as Founding Development Coordinator. The Coordinator will strengthen Matriculate’s long-term sustainability by further developing and engaging our community of supporters, and by creating the foundational systems, structures, and processes for Matriculate’s fundraising operations. The Coordinator will also support the organization’s internal operations.
This position requires a drive and passion for our mission paired with excellent written and oral communication skills, superlative attention to detail, and a high degree of self-direction. In addition, the successful candidate will be hungry to learn and apply best practices and be outcomes-oriented.
The Coordinator reports to the CEO while working closely with the rest of the Matriculate team. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Development research, donor outreach, materials creation, event planning
Direct Matriculate’s development strategy by identifying, creating and pursuing opportunities to raise support across individuals, foundations, corporations, and others.
Research, identify, and analyze new potential development opportunities
Track leads, opportunities, and Matriculate’s on-going development relationships
Craft marketing materials
Write and edit proposals, grants, and reports
Plan events as needed
Support CEO’s donor stewardship efforts
Development systems creation and implementation
Establish and maintain Matriculate’s development systems:
Maintain up-to-date and complete development records, in part through Matriculate’s Salesforce platform
Manage and implement acknowledgement and stewardship process
Help write newsletters and maintain website
Internal operations support
Support Matriculate’s internal operations:
Track and help manage Matriculate’s technology assets
Support Matriculate’s administrative, finance, HR, and office needs in conjunction with external partners as needed
Support as needed in other internal operations

The ideal candidate will have:
A deep commitment to Matriculate’s mission
A bachelor’s degree
1-3 years of experience in the non-profit sector, ideally experience in development
Excellent writing/editing skills and verbal communications
Design skills a plus
Superlative attention to detail
High degree of self-direction and focus on execution
Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge quickly
Flexibility and willingness to do whatever it takes

Strong command of Microsoft Office suite; experience with Salesforce a plus
Willingness to travel domestically in urban and rural areas, potentially up to 20%
