Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management Tenure-Track
Position California State University, Fullerton, seeks a tenure-track faculty member in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management for Fall 2018. The ideal candidate will contribute to one or more specialty OB areas (e.g. Cross-Cultural Management, Leadership, Teams) with an interest in Human Resource Management. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate/graduate classes in OB and HR; scholarly and creative activities that result in high-quality refereed journal articles; departmental, college and University service, and student advisement.
Position The ideal candidate will contribute to one or more specialty OB areas (e.g. Cross-Cultural Management, Leadership, Teams) with an interest in Human Resource Management. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate/graduate classes in OB and HR; scholarly and creative activities that result in high-quality refereed journal articles; departmental, college and University service, and student advisement.
Candidates should have completed by August 16, 2018 all requirements for a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) with specialty in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Leadership, or Organizational Psychology, or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
Evidence of or potential for publications in high quality journals is expected.
Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
Ability to work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and faculty is required.
Experience as an effective teacher is highly preferred.
Teaching and research interest/experience in one or more specialty areas of OB such as cross-cultural management, teams, or leadership is preferred, as is an ability to teach in the human resources area.
Prior business experience is desirable.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Rank and Salary The position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track. The position comes with a competitive salary commensurate with rank, experience and qualifications. The Department of Management The management department has 27 tenured and tenure-track faculty supplemented by 5 full-time lecturers and a 45 part-time adjunct faculty. Tenure-track faculty members publish their research in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Human Resource Management, among others. The department houses three active centers of excellence – The Center for Leadership, the Entrepreneurship Center and the Family Business Center – which provide opportunities for exposure to business organizations and potential collaborations. Our faculties are frequently recognized across the College and University for excellence in both innovative teaching and scholarly research.
