In collaboration with administrative and academic personnel, the executive director will collect, analyze, manage, and report official current and historical data to all internal and external constituencies, and will recommend efficient, effective and integrated processes to collect and ensure the integrity of the data. The incumbent will lead initiatives required to meet reporting and accountability obligations, manage data resources, and conduct institutional research in the promotion of data-based decision making. The incumbent will be responsible for the application of predictive and comparative analytics for key performance indicators identified by university leadership.
- Serves as strategic partner to the Vice President of Operations - Participates as a member of the University's leadership team - Presents informed policy recommendations based on benchmarks and analytics of compiled data - Supports the university's on-going policy analysis process and organizational effectiveness: - Analyzes the organizational and fiscal effects of policies proposed by external entities (e.g. state and federal government) and by the university. - Develops analytical models to inform policy, planning, and resource allocation. - Serves as the chief liaison with external agencies for institutional and specialized accreditation, as well as for state and federal reporting requirements. - Directs, coordinates and conducts special analytical studies in support of campus decision-making related to student, academic, finances, facilities and financial aid. - Directs, coordinates, and conducts assessment studies related to program reviews, student learning outcomes, survey research, performance metrics and accountability reports. - Directs and coordinates official reports for the campus including federal and state reports, for external agencies such as college guidebooks and college rankings, and ad hoc requests. - Recommends, develops, and oversees state and/or federal mandates such as legislative studies or audits. - Promotes and manages change within the university based on data assessment, analytics, and evaluation. - Supports the strategic six year (three biennium) planning cycle and the ten year master plan with measurable, annually assessed goals. - Supervises employees in the accomplishment of stated outcomes.
- Leads data management activities: - In collaboration with university leadership develops institutional date definitions and norms. - Leads the development of university-wide data protocols and definitions and integrated data management and analysis. - Coordinates with university leadership and government relations staff in providing timely and strategic reports and responses to data requests from accrediting agencies, state and federal government, and others. - Provides university offices and departments with statistical information and data as required. - Works within university structures and processes to improve data integration, ensure data integrity, and address data management issues.

Master's degree in educational research, statistics, policy analysis, educational measurement and evaluation, quantitative social science or a related field and
Five years' experience at a baccalaureate institution in one or more of the following fields: institutional research, strategic planning, student learning assessment, budgeting, academic planning, data or enrollment management, or in state or federal policy analysis regarding baccalaureate institutions
Bachelor's degree and five years of experience working in a baccalaureate institution or in oversight of baccalaureate institutions, five years of which must be experience in one or more of the following fields: institutional research, strategic planning, student learning assessment, budgeting, academic planning, data or enrollment management, or state of federal policy pertaining to baccalaureate institutions.
Any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to meet the essential functions of the position.
Experience in Washington state budget and policy processes
Experience responding to state and federal reporting requirements
Experience in the management and supervision of personnel engaged in the analysis of university data
Experience in the development and use of a comprehensive university data management system
Experience as team member preparing an institutional of higher education for a major accreditation visit (either regional or national accreditation)
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationship with others

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to meet the physical demands of remaining at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, using repetitive arm, hand and finger movements. Some stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying or moving of objects and other movements may be required. Occasional evening or weekend work and travel may be required.
