Responsible for day-to-day administration of policies, procedures and programs to provide HR support to business unit or corporate functional area. Assists in the development, implementation and communication of human resources policies and procedures. May acts as a liaison between departments/divisions, all levels of line and staff management, compensation and benefits department, legal counsel, and outside service providers.
Responsibilities 1. Leads and/or supports one or more HR processes including on-boarding, off-boarding, payroll, FMLA, leaves of absence, safety and worker's compensation, unemployment claims processing and/or associate relations. 2. Maintains knowledge and advises management of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. 3. Advises, supports, and assists with positive employee relations activities and investigates and resolves employee relations issues. 4. Leads or supports HR projects and conducts HR-related training (e.g., new hire orientation, benefits orientation, safety/ergonomics, HR compliance, positive employee relations, etc.). 5. May support recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt associates with requisitions and job postings.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
Human resources or related experience strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of HR principles, practices and related labor/employment laws
Knowledge of MS-Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Effective oral and written communication skills
Skill and ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Ability to coach and manage employees through complex and emotional issues
Ability to research and analyze data
Ability to effectively resolve issues using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations and/or laws
