The IT Director, Clinical Systems will be a pivotal player in planning, delivering and overseeing strategic and operational objectives for Memorial Sloan Kettering’s clinical systems. You will lead efforts to find innovative solutions to support MSK’s clinical and integration strategic efforts. In collaboration with Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics and Hospital Administration leadership, the director will plan and direct all aspects of design, implementation of applications and integration solutions that support our clinical departments. You will lead large scale IT projects that cross functional and departmental teams. We are looking for a motivated, independent, organized self-starter with extensive IT industry experience who can work closely with the business owners to effectively translate business strategies and objectives into innovative solutions for our patients, care teams and business partners, while assuring technology compatibility and security compliance.
Provide strategic direction, thought leadership and overall guidance for clinical systems and integration projects.
Manage IT teams responsible for implementation and support of clinical applications.
Foster an innovative environment leveraging vendor systems and new industry tools
Manage relationships with the clinical user community to assure IT strategies are in synch with overarching clinical system goals
Manage vendor relationships to assure maximum utilization of vendor application functionality.
Prepare annual budget and resource forecasting.
Master’s degree in Healthcare and/or Information Sciences preferred or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience with increasing levels of accountability.
Demonstrated skills in strategic and critical thinking, negotiation and relationship building and management of large scale IT projects
Ability to work with a range of technical staff, operational partners and vendors to develop joint solutions
Ability to facilitate problem solving among groups with varying needs and priorities
Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare information systems
Experience with managing healthcare vendor relationships desirable
Hands on experience with MS Office Suite including MS Project, PowerPoint, VISIO, Outlook, Sharepoint
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Monday – Friday); oversees 24 hour system operation and available to handle off hour/weekend implementations and issues.
