We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physician Assistant-Affiliation.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for provision, coordination, and assurance of comprehensive medical care using sound medical knowledge and pertinent standards of care, performance of therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures on the designated inpatient population, assume responsibilities assigned by supervising physician privileged as medical staff of NYU Medical Center and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue Hospital.

At Bellevue, the Physician Assistant Service stands independently from the house-staff services. It is staffed by Physician Assistants with 24/7 PA coverage and attending supervision. Hours of work include three, 12.5 hour flexible overnight shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Provision of clinical care for patients on the Physician Assistant Service of the General Internal Medicine Service at Bellevue Hospital with an attending physician
Clinically evaluate and write coverage notes on patients on the PA service should coverage issues arise overnight under the guidance of an attending physician
Assist the attending physician in the Short Stay/Observation Unit
Responsible for complying with all contractual obligations under the NYU School of Medicine Affiliation Contract with Bellevue Hospital Center and all other related duties as assigned
Practices within the scope of practice of supervising physician
Performs delegated clinical duties effectively and efficiently
Works collaboratively with the attending physician, consulting physician(s), and other disciplines to identify, develop, and implement an appropriate plan of care that maximizes individual patient/family preference and enhances quality, access, and cost-effective outcomes
Current New York State Physician Assistant License
Master's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
New York State Physician Assistant license and certification;
Recent graduate or some experience as a Physician Assistant
Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, creative problem solving and excellent critical thinking skills
Works cohesively and collaboratively as member of the interdisciplinary team
Language skills is a plus.
Required Licenses: Physician Assistant Lic-NYS
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a physician assistant or physician assistant fellowship experience is preferred. Membership in professional specialty organizations desirable.
