Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager- Internal Audit.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for supervising internal audit staff and performing financial, operational and regulatory compliance reviews.
Works closely with the AssociateDirector to manage priorities of the internal audit department.
Assists in periodically developing a hospital-wide business risk assessment.
Helps develop and obtain approval for an annual audit plan that based on the key risks of the organization.
Executes the approved audit plan through the effective and efficient management of departmental human and other resources.
Appropriately documents work performed and supports conclusions reached in well-organized audit work papers.
Provides well-written and timely reports of audit findings and performance improvement recommendations to the Associate Director for distribution and discussion with management, and, as necessary, incorporates management performance improvement plans into the final audit report.
Communicates results of audits to department leadership and members of management.
In collaboration with the Associate Director, tracks and performs follow-up review as required based on the audit findings.
Assists the Medical Center Compliance Office in monitoring activities based on the compliance plan.
Works with the Associate Director to develop an annual personnel development plan for yourself and staff that includes goal setting, performance evaluation, and an education and training plan.
Enhances personal knowledge of the health care industry and remains current on internal auditing standards and practices through continuing education, professional society participation and networking to maintain leading-edge internal audit practices at the NYU Hospital Center.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree is required. Minimum of five years performing financial and/or operational audits with a concentration of experience in a large hospital or healthcare system. The ability to motivate, manage and train staff on effective and efficient auditing practices and general health care issues. Knowledge of the financial, operational, information systems and regulatory issues confronting health care organizations. The ability to support best practices in internal auditing and identify recommendations regarding improvements in internal controls, business processes and business risk management. Well-developed written and oral communication skills. The ability and desire to work closely and professionally with individuals at all levels in the organization including physicians, staff, management and trustees.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's and/or CPA or CIA preferred.
