Providence is calling a Mental Health Technician (0.5 FTE - 20 hours per week, Variable Shifts) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montanta. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Support nursing personnel in providing nursing care to patients.
Assist in maintaining a therapeutic environment.
Lead therapeutic patient activities and psycho-educational groups.
Monitor patient behavior during non-structured activities.
Contribute to the assessment of newly-admitted patients.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Crisis Prevention certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or current hospital experience
Experience working with persons in a chemical dependency or psychiatric treatment setting
Experience in an acute care setting
