Under the direct supervision of, the Program Facilitator is responsible for program communications, planning, reporting, and a variety of complex activities in support of the Global Engagement and Multicultural Centers. Responsible for the administrative/coordination duties for the Study Abroad Programs, F1 compliance and guidance, the intensive English program and events related to the diverse college student populations.
The Program Facilitator is part of a career path for supporting program development and implementation.The Program Coordinator requires the ability to lead and participate in support services including but not limited to social, cultural and educational programs; compliance and guidance in support of specialized programs under the review and prevue of the Global Engagement and Multicultural Centers related to the diverse student populations on campus.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Plans, organizes, and facilitates activities and programs to develop students' skills in international and multicultural awareness including but not limited to: entertainment, cultural events, study abroad fairs, workshops, off-campus events, and partnering events with on- and off-campus partners/vendors.
• Coordinates information and advisement sessions for F1 visa obligations and benefits to ensure federal reporting requirements are met on the state and federal levels and acts as a Designated School Official in the federal Student, Exchange, and Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
• Oversees processes and participates in facilitating the college study abroad programs.
• Collaborates with Student Life and Leadership to provide in-service training and volunteer experiences on campus and in the community to increase outreach and awareness for student government and leadership.
• Works closely with Associated Students, student clubs, various student programs, academic departments, faculty, committees, other groups of students, staff, and faculty to collaborate on events that connect diverse groups of students.
• Assists with identifying and developing proposals for requests for proposals (RFPs) from outside vendors/contractors; negotiate services and fees with private sector organizations in relation to performances, speakers, and other events as needed.
• Oversees, conducts, and reports results from student satisfaction surveys after the conclusion of special events and activities; provides recommendations to enhance student outcomes derived from feedback received.
• Assists with and participate in presentations to the Board of Trustees, college administration, staff, and students on special events and/or program updates.
• Develops and produces informational materials and publications supporting the Global Engagement and Multicultural Centers in collaboration with Marketing and Public Relations.
• Collaborates with the campus community to create, generate and execute innovative ideas and processes to enhance student involvement; initiate and serve on District and college committees, advisory boards and work groups to increase the footprint of the Global Engagement Center throughout the District.
• Works closely with students, staff, management, faculty, and administrators concerning best business practices, customer service, coordination of committees and multiple projects associated with student global engagement.
• Interprets District policies and procedures pertaining to campus activities and programs such as, Global Engagement Center, Multicultural Center, Study Abroad, intensive English program, as well as other diversity-related student activities sponsored by the District.
• Collects, tracks, records, analyzes and reports required program metrics related to student engagement, recruitment, retention, graduation, and transfer rates.
• Develops tracking and monitoring systems to ensure compliance for all programs within the related areas.
• Communicates with management and administration with progress updates, program information and reports that support the college and District's ability to ensure compliance with program objectives, state and federal rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Researches, prepares, recommends, and monitors approved budgets related to assigned program; assists with the management and monitoring of division budgets.
• Provides in-service training and presentations to small and large groups of students; attends conferences and workshops relating to Global Engagement as directed.
• Uses a variety of software applications to track projects, prepare reports, monitor expenditures, and collaborate on program projects with college and District personnel as appropriate.
• Serves as the liaison for students, staff, managers and administrators within the Global Engagement and Multicultural Centers.
• Establishes strong working relationships with all program participants, students, staff, managers, administrators and community partners.
• Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Conditions of Employment
This is a full time, 12 month per year position. The normal hours of work are to be arranged between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
Regular attendance is considered an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.

PAY PHILOSOPHY: Starting salaries for support staff positions begin at Step-1 of the salary range. All movement on the salary schedule will occur July 1 of each year for all classified employees.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in international relations, counseling, guidance, psychology, social work or related field.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in a student-centered environment.
• Or, any combination of education and experience that would provide the equivalent qualifications.
• Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States to qualify for SEVIS access.
