The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Executive Director upon the retirement of the current ED in the fall of 2017. The Executive Director will advance the mission and agenda of the organization. Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have overall strategic, resource and operational responsibility for the Cultural Center’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objection. This position requires continual fundraising and donor development, staff management and development, and Board of Directors interaction and guidance.
The Executive Director will build on the strong arts programs and outreach already in place, and plan and assist in fundraising, artistic planning and implementation, gallery supervision, strategic planning, public relations, communications and future development planning. The director supervises a staff of four full-time employees and works with a passionate board of 15 individuals

Program and Resource Development
In collaboration with staff, oversee all areas of fundraising planning, budgeting and implementation
Assures the center, its mission, programs and services are of the highest quality and are consistently presented in a strong and positive image to all stakeholders.
Establish sound working relationships and cooperative partnerships with community groups, organizations and businesses that advance the center’s mission and resources,
In collaboration with staff and board, develop and implement new creative strategies to increase membership and program participation.
Oversee the refinement and expansion of all aspects of external communications to increase stronger awareness of the mission, vision and values of the center within key marketing areas and demographics.
Oversee the cultivation of all funding sources including grants, memberships, fundraising events, and individual donors to increase revenue annually.
Develop and recommend a detailed yearly operating budget for board approval and prudently manage the Cultural Center’s resources within the approved budget guidelines.
Oversees the management of all funds, consistent with the organization’s accounting system.
Maintain required records and prepare management reports as necessary and in compliance with all local, state and federal government policies and procedures.
Authorize and review all vendor contracts, purchase orders and payments to ensure the best use of the center’s financial resources.
Staff Leadership and Management
Recruits, manages, motivates and develop a staff of talented employees.
Coordinates work with Board sub-committees, volunteers and partner organizations.
Promotes an organizational culture that fosters and encourages passion for the mission, cooperation, open communication, teamwork and a common vision for the center.
Advocacy and Community Relations
Serves as the chief spokesperson for the Cultural Center in the community; articulates and communicates the value of the arts in improving our quality of life, and promotes community support of the arts and the Cultural Center.
Conducts all business at the highest standard of integrity ensuring that all activities are legal and ethical.
Develops effective working relationships within the community to ensure that the arts are represented in the community-at-large and for the supporters that the center serves.
College graduate with at least 5 years executive non-profit management experience.
Significant and successful experience in fundraising and major donor development.
Marketing experience desired.
Knowledge of the Ponte Vedra/Jacksonville/St. Augustine arts communities is a plus.
Outstanding written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to positively motivate and develop staff, board, and volunteers.

Ability to work collaboratively with all sectors of the community, the Board of Directors and staff.
Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
Experience with Etapestry (Blackbaud) software
Responsible, reliable and able to work daytime, some evenings and weekends
Must have a positive attitude, be able to work as part of a high-functioning team, possess a knowledge of and passion for the arts
Salary range, $60,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience
The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach is located in northern Florida just outside St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The Cultural Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization, was founded in 1996 and has grown from neighborhood facility to a thriving arts center with an annual operating budget of over $700,000. The mission of the Cultural Center is to “Bring the Arts into the Life ...of the Community” achieved through arts education, arts exhibition and arts outreach. The Cultural Center offers over 175 arts classes annually serving children and adults of all ages and skill levels. The center hosts major art exhibitions which feature the artwork of local and regional artists. The center’s outreach program, “Sound Connections” Music Therapy for Children with Special Needs received national recognition and has expanded into four elementary schools in St. Johns County. The Cultural Center is currently exploring expansion plans within Ponte Vedra for a new 15,000 sf arts center and will be starting the project soon. An audit, an order of magnitude construction costs and the 3-year operating pro-forma have been completed. The feasibility study will begin in 2018 followed by a capital campaign.
