POSITION DETAILSBaruch College invites applications for the Academic SEEK Student Support Specialist position. This position reports to the Director of the SEEK Program.The successful candidate for this position can expect to perform these additional duties: * Provide personal, career and educational advising to individuals and groups; maintain student files and contact data. * Assess students' academic, personal and career development needs. * Assist students in setting goals and priorities for success. * Provide information regarding College policies, procedures, requirements and major offerings. - Monitor student utilization of SEEK program services and academic performance. * Lead freshman seminar course. * Participate in program planning and assessment. Prepare periodic reports. * Provide consultation services to instructional and administrative colleagues regarding students with personal and academic difficulties. * Conduct special topics workshops (e.g.,probation, stress reduction, time management, health relationships, etc.). * Participate on college-wide committees, as appropriate. * Provide program support to the Program Coordinator as needed.QUALIFICATIONSA Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology and two years' related experience. Other related master's degrees can be considered.Note: this is not a mental health counselor/practitioner position and is not responsible for providing psychological counseling.CUNY TITLE OVERVIEWProvides educational programs, academic advice, and assistance to SEEK students.
