The coordinator/diversity and inclusion will be responsible for supporting programming for diversity and inclusion within the College of Medicine for faculty, staff and students. Additional duties will support linked programming for medical student career development, wellness and inter professional education. Duties include collecting and analyzing data regarding programming needs, scheduling and evaluating educational sessions and tracking participation. The coordinator will be responsible for the development of internal and external reports tracking program outcomes, and for the development of communication materials for internal and external use. This individual assists in the planning, development and implementation of educational and development programs for students, faculty and staff. This individual coordinates with staff in affiliated teaching hospitals in delivering programs to faculty and staff at those affiliates, as well as students while placed there. Travel between West (Mount Pleasant) and East (Saginaw) campus required weekly.
Bachelor's degree; preferably in Education, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Academic Administration or related field. Three years of experience with diversity and inclusion in higher education or related field. Demonstrated experience in manage complex tasks effectively, including exceptional attention to detail, organization, timeliness and follow through. Demonstrated ability to solve problems. Strong project management skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and project a positive image. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team across a variety of constituencies. Working knowledge of computer applications. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
