The Trinitas Regional Medical Center paramedics work on a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) acting as advanced-level providers who bring expertise to any situation as an extension of the hospital. They are trained and capable to handle a large expanse of situations, including but not limited to respiratory, cardiac, or major trauma emergencies. They are able to provide IV medicine, advanced cardiac assessment, and cardiac treatment.
Our Mobile Intensive Care Unit utilizes some of the most up-to-date vehicles and equipment to provide a reliable quality patient care. With four Medic units, and as a part of Union County SWAT, the MICU primarily serves in the city of Elizabeth, but provides back-up to eleven neighboring cities, including Roselle Park, Union, and Hillside The Trinitas paramedics are capable of the following:
Rapid Sequence Induction
Pre-Hospital Pain Management
Over 50 Medications
Paralytics & Sedation
Defibrillation, Cardioversion, External Pacemaker
Rapid 12-lead EKG interpretation and transmission to the Emergency Department
Valid state driver's license in good standing required. Loss of same must be reported to Supervisor immediately. Current AHA CPR certification; Current AHA ACLS certification; Current AHA PALS certification; Current EMT-P or MICN certification. CEVO (within 6 months) Must complete the following on-line training prior to first day of employment: ICS (operations); CBRNE (operations); HazMat (operations). Two years of MICP or MICN experience preferred.
