Matriculate seeks a driven candidate to serve as Recruitment and Training Associate. The Associate will manage college student Advising Fellow (AF) recruitment, selection, and orientation training across Matriculate’s college sites.
This position requires a drive and passion for our mission, paired with experience in recruitment, program development, and setting and achieving aggressive goals. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, focus on quality, flexibility, and commitment to rigorous evaluation and continuous improvement.
The Recruitment and Training Associate reports to the Senior Program Manager while working closely with the rest of the Matriculate team. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Advising Fellow (AF) Recruitment and Selection
Ensure Matriculate’s AFs meet high expectations for quality and commitment by leading annual AF recruitment and selection process across all college campuses:
Plan overarching AF and HAF recruitment and selection approach as well as campus-specific strategies and tactics
Leverage data to improve recruitment and selection
Develop, package, and distribute recruitment materials and resources
Execute recruitment plan in partnership with Program Managers and HAFs across campuses, including providing on-the-ground support
Manage implementation of recruitment and selection process, work with Program Managers and HAFs to troubleshoot, and adjust approach as necessary to ensure goals are met
Exceed recruitment and selection goals
Develop systems for scaling approach to prepare for Matriculate’s growth
Advising Fellow (AF) Training and Certification
Support Matriculate’s training and certification process:
Plan a 2-day orientation training for AFs that introduces them to the Matriculate program, their responsibilities, and the content of their work
Coordinate logistics and work with Program Managers and HAFs to implement the orientation training on each campus
Attend all of the AF orientation trainings, many of which occur on the weekend
Support the development of ongoing virtual monthly trainings for Advising Fellows, secure guest speakers, compile materials and track attendance
Maintain calendar and update training materials for all Advising Fellow meetings
Oversee and monitor the certification process to ensure quality and preparedness of Advising AFs, with support from Program Managers and HAFs
Ensure Advising Fellow training and certification process runs smoothly, including troubleshooting and adjusting approach as necessary to ensure goals are met
Support Program Managers in training HAFs
Develop systems for scalability
Commitment to Excellence
Collaborate across the Matriculate program to ensure maximum consistencies and efficiencies
Identify and troubleshoot challenges as they arise
Contribute to Matriculate’s culture of continuous improvement
The ideal candidate will have:
A deep commitment to Matriculate’s mission
A bachelor’s degree
2-3 years of experience with demonstrated success in talent recruitment and program design, ideally focused on education or youth development
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills – ability to command a room
Excellent writing/editing skills and verbal communications
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and focus on execution
Ability to think strategically and analytically while managing tactical implementation, balancing both long?term and short?term projects and planning
Unwavering commitment to excellence and strong leadership skills
Excellent judgment and impeccable integrity
Initiative in problem solving, commitment to constantly learning, growing, and reflecting on their work
High degree of personal initiative with the desire and ability to meet aggressive strategic goals, work independently and thrive within an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and growing organization
Command of remote communication methods, including google hangout and skype
Strong command of Microsoft Office suite; experience with Salesforce a plus
Willingness to travel domestically in urban and rural areas, potentially up to 50%
Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
