Duties will include general cell and molecular biology laboratory activities including but not limited to lab maintenance - bio-hazard disposal, dish-washing, buffers, solution and agar plate preparation, ordering, preparing and laying out supplies, equipment and apparatus (10%). Organizing and keeping in order collection/database of plasmids, oligonucleotides, viral stocks and other samples (10%). Maintenance of large-scale cell culture (cell factories), cell transfection and protein purification (40%). Large-scale plasmid preparation (20%). Help to perform lab animal (rodents) studies (20%).

The Hormel Institute, a biomedical research center of the University of Minnesota, was established in 1942 and has an excellent reputation and long history for producing world-class medical research. Required: High school graduation or equivalent with some science courses. Two years of experience in relevant academic and work experience may be substituted
Preferred: BA/BS in Molecular Biology or related field
