The EITA (Electronic Information Technology Accessibility) position located in the Foley Library is responsible for planning, coordination and delivery of all programming designed to support the implementation of the EITA policy, and objectives of the Foley Library. The EITA policy ensures the University is in accordance with federal and state laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), and the Amendments Act of 2008, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 508 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act as amended. Through effective collaboration with faculty, staff, and administration, and support from Foley Library colleagues, this person will be instrumental in helping to create a campus environment where all campus community members can be successful.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable work experience.
Demonstrated experience developing and conducting trainings for employees.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience interpreting and implementing regulations through best practices, policies, and trainings.
Demonstrated experience with in-person training and presentations.
Technical assistance expertise with, particularly strong with Microsoft software programs and accessibility tools, closed captioning, web tools, etc.
Proven ability to use independent judgment, make critical decisions, and administer policies and procedures while maintaining high professional standards.
Ability to effectively handle stressful conditions that may require immediate conflict resolution involving academic or curricular issues with students, staff and faculty.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of student records and other restricted information.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to engage with diverse groups of people.
