The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Stewardship Officer.
The Stewardship Officer is responsible for the management and execution of one or more of the teamâ??s donor reporting cycles of specific funds (scholarship, professorship, special purpose, etc.). This role requires knowledge of donor relations, time management expertise, excellent writing skills, and the ability to navigate the administrative responsibilities and challenges of their assigned reporting cycle(s). The incumbent will work cooperatively with other Stewardship Officers as a team to achieve stewardship goals. The Stewardship Officer will document and communicate all reporting procedures, and share as appropriate with the Donor Relations team and University prospect managers.
Bachelorâ??s degree and 4+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Experience in donor relations, fundraising, or marketing is preferred. Nonprofit experience is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
Attention to detail and proofreading skills.
Writing experience required, including strong oral and written communication skills, with an excellent command of the English language and rules of grammar.
Personal initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to solve problems independently and creatively.
The ability to develop and implement short and long term goals. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
High level of computer proficiency in word processing and continued interest in maintaining and improving skills: Microsoft Word (merging and styles sheet experience required), Excel (required), PowerPoint (preferred) and internet navigation (required).
Comfortable working with constituent management databases.
