Reporting to the GIS Manager, the Senior CAD Technician provides technical support to Facilities' Office of Data Administration by ensuring floor plans and interior-space related tabular attributes (i.e., space data [room use, room number, assigned/occupying dept., etc.]) are current and reliable in the University’s Space Data system of record. The system of record currently stores space data for over 900 buildings totaling over 13 million square feet. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and University policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture, or related field; or a combination of post-secondary training and/or work experience in design, engineering technology, drafting, or drafting. - Considerable professional work experience in drafting/design in a building construction-related or multi-building (5+ buildings) facility management environment. - Extensive experience reading technical documents and drawings, construction/renovation plans, etc. - Extensive experience using Autodesk AutoCAD or similar drafting and design software. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Effective Communications Skills. - Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture, or related field. - GIS and/or BIM experience. - Assetworks AiM or equivalent asset management software experience. - Prior experience in a higher education environment.
