Williams College is pleased to announce an opening for an Assistant Coach for Women's Crew. Reporting to the Head Coach of Women's Crew, this is a 5-month term position, with positional engagement in the months of April and May. There is the possibility of renewal for a full term 10 month contract in the following academic year. The department seeks an energetic, talented, and spirited Assistant Coach to effectively coach, recruit and mentor walk-on and experienced rowing student - athletes. The Assistant Coach will have the opportunity to improve in their personal and professional skills preparing them for higher levels of coaching and program management.
Coaching 16-20 freshman/novice rowers
Plan and prepare practice/training schedules
Coordinate and supervise trips with Varsity and Freshmen team members
Recruit on campus students and coordinate recruitment of HS seniors
Create on-campus visit itineraries and official visit arrangements
Drive college vehicles when necessary
Provide work orders for facilities on rowing equipment
Assist and collaborate with coaching staff in day-to-day operations
Bachelor's Degree and collegiate rowing or coaching experience
Knowledge of NESCAC and NCAA Division III policies are preferred
Excellent communications skills and strong interpersonal skills are essential
Successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to recruit, teach and coach highly talented student-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment
Ability to work with a diverse student body of students
Valid driver license
