Established community mental health center in Skokie, IL seeks a Full Time Billing and Client Services Specialist.
The Billing and Client Services Specialist monitors all aspects of the electronic and manual professional billing processes; accurate coding of services; claims processing; inputting insurance payments; verifying insurance coverage; ensuring coordination of professional billing issues related to organizational performance; reviews account receivables and manages contracting and staff credentialing. Responds to client and staff inquiries and requests respectfully, and in a timely manner. Cross-trains with and backs up employees who primarily provide Client Services, and covers Open Access shifts when needed.

Minimum educational attainment of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with Medical Billing and/or familiarity with and understanding of Insurance terminology and concepts
Understanding and experience with provider credentialing a plus
Strong computer skills. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of data gathering techniques, such as Internet research and files analysis, to obtain technical and administrative materials for organizational use.
Ability to communicate effectively and positively both verbally and in writing with clients and staff.
Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, copiers, calculators, and facsimile machines.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform incidental typing of routine material (e.g., cards, labels, folders, envelopes, memoranda, letters).
Ability to maintain confidentiality, use good judgment and sensitivity.
Ability to communicate with and elicit cooperation from others and to assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
Ability to develop clear and comprehensive correspondence.
Ability to meet and communicate with the public and staff using tact and poise.
Knowledge of or the ability to learn commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the mental health field.Must have the ability to lift 10 lbs.
