The Office of Admission seeks candidates to serve as the Assistant Director of International Admission to join our dynamic team of admission professionals. With guidance of supervisor, this individual will develop and implement recruitment strategies for international students that integrate with the overall recruitment strategy and continuous improvement plan for the University. The Assistant Director of Admission will work with the international team to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, both on and off campus, as well as develop communication strategies and lead strategic initiatives in their territory in order to create pathways for students to Drake. The individual will use data and information from reports to inform recruitment strategy regarding international students in their territory. Preferred qualifications include experience working in higher education or admission, experience working with international students, or experience working international markets, such as Asia, where transferable skills would apply.
40% Manage assigned recruitment territory. Responsibilities include international recruitment travel as well as providing counseling and advising to prospective students and their families through the entire admission process through direct mailings, phone calls, electronic communication, and social media. Counselor will meet with students during regularly scheduled appointments and events on and off campus. Appropriately document all conversation and communication associated with these responsibilities within customer relations management tool.
20% Develop and implement recruitment strategies for international students, specifically in Asian markets, that integrate with the overall recruitment strategy and continuous improvement plan for the University. Use data and information relevant to measurable outcomes and goals to inform recruitment strategy.
20% Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in Asian markets including schools, advising centers, international organizations, school counselors, alumni, etc. Responsible for developing communication strategies and leading targeted initiatives to build pipelines and pathways for students to Drake.
10% Review prospective student credentials and make recommendations for admission consistent with University policies and priorities.
10% Review financial documents to make recommendations in regards to international student aid awarding. Serve as one of the designated school officials, to review and issue requisite immigration documents for international student visa and enrollment needs.

Preferred qualifications include:
Some admission or higher education experience (1-3 years) or experience working within international markets, such as Asia, where transferrable skills would apply.
U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States to meet federal regulatory requirements for SEVIS access and to serve as a DSO.
