Professional and Graduate Studies, as an academic unit of Southern Nazarene University, is charged with meeting the demand for new and relevant academic programs and professional development, primarily to adult learners, delivered online or off campus and in a cost-effective manner. The Executive Director of Professional and Graduate Studies is a collaborative, innovative leader responsible for developing and implementing a vision that aligns with and supports the university's mission. The successful candidate will oversee and be responsible for coalescing, assessing and rewarding a team of individuals to meet clear annual enrollment growth and retention targets as identified by the President and Provost.
The successful candidate will oversee and is responsible for an operational unit within Academic Affairs. The unit currently delivers programs to nearly 1,100 students annually throughout Oklahoma and beyond through face-to-face and online delivery with current revenue of approximately $16 million.

Candidates should have a Master’s degree and at least 5 years of leadership experience in developing innovative revenue-generating income streams. Sound fiscal and personnel management skills, excellent oral and written communication, creativity, self-direction, problem-solving and evidence based decisions-making skills are required.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in nontraditional educational programs.
The Executive Director collaborates with other leaders to identify, create, deliver and evaluate undergraduate and graduate programs, professional development and high school concurrent enrollment courses via multiple delivery formats (distance, face-to-face, flipped, hybrid and online). The successful candidate will execute and oversee all phases of these areas.
The position reports to the Provost.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
providing senior leadership for all matters related to nontraditional degree programs including marketing, recruiting, admissions, registration, student success and advising
working with all to set the vision, strategic plans, and budgets for all nontraditional education endeavors
working with all to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of these programs
envisioning and overseeing develop of new programs, new locations, and new delivery methods
overseeing the hiring, training, developing, and evaluating of staff
supervising and supporting the recruitment and retention of quality students
supervising the operations and maintenance of off-campus sites
working with faculty and program directors in all facets of academics for nontraditional degree programs

The Graduate & Professional Studies program began in 1988 and continues to provide non-traditional education opportunities for adult students through accelerated degree programs in Tulsa, Bethany and online. Currently most classes meet one evening per week. Graduate Program offerings include, MA Educational Leadership, MA Counseling Psychology, MA Sport Management Administration, MBA, MSM, and MBA with healthcare concentration. Sport Management Administration and all business programs are also online.
