The Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science (SWES) seeks a Professor of Practice to lead Department efforts to establish and deliver a fully online undergraduate degree in Environmental Science. This is a 9-month teaching position (1.0 FTE) and is non-tenure eligible, Assistant or Associate rank with opportunities to advance in rank (Assistant to Associate; Associate to Full), and subject to renewable one-year contracts. This new faculty position will work to migrate existing Environmental Science (ENVS) courses online and to develop new online courses with the dual goals of expanding access to ENVS classes and developing a fully online B.S. degree program in Environmental Science within 4 years. Our goal is to integrate state-of-the-art pedagogical and technological approaches to create accessible and quality online courses in compliance with the “Quality Matters” program. This involves strategically transforming learning materials and objectives into interactive and engaging online delivery. The successful candidate will work with the University of Arizona’s Office of Digital Learning and Office of Instruction and Assessment to transfer and develop course content and assessment methods that will enhance student engagement and learning in the online environment.
