To be responsible for coordinating and implementing program planning, financial processing, client services, event planning, and center usage; to work with the Virginia Tech Richmond Center and Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Centers faculty and staff to coordinate program implementation; maintain and reconcile financial records using the Banner Financial System; prepare accounting/purchasing forms, travel reimbursements and processes wage payroll. To provide support of the daily operations of the Newport News and Virginia Beach Centers, based on each center's program and implementation needs; to serve as the initial and primary contact for faculty, students, clients and participants associated with graduate, professional development and meeting management activities. To support the directors in a wide variety of tasks including marketing and customer support, classroom scheduling, calendar maintenance, classroom set up and reception duties. To be the liaison between students and various entities on main campus.
Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle numerous projects and details simultaneously and accurately; must be able to manage and handle on-the-spot changes and emergencies. Previous experience in program and/or event planning, project management, financial processing, and marketing activities. Excellent organizational skills. Command of Outlook and Microsoft Office suite.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent level of training and/or experience. Experience working within higher education and/or professional development organization preferred. Experience in training and development and/or meeting management preferred.
