Position Summary Manages the activities of academic advising programs. Advise students with unique problems and gives advice and leadership to academic advisors regarding difficult cases. Coordinates internship programs including promotion, recruitment, placement, and progress of students. Assist the Director of Student Experience and Recruitment as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Designs, implements, oversees, and evaluates an advising program; assesses diverse needs of students who use the advising services and adjusts the structure of the program to address those needs as well as the university mission statement; recommends policy and procedural changes to administrators.
Establishes program mission and goals and objectives.
Makes administrative decisions regarding student petitions, appeals, disqualification and changes to their degree programs.
Advises and counsels students on academic, curricular and career; assists academic advisors with difficult cases.
Develops and conducts informational seminars and workshops for students, faculty advisors, and community college counselors.
Approves academic plans developed and facilitated.
Participates in recruitment and orientation programs for prospective university students or participants in special programs, such as internships or advanced standing programs.
Represent CPS to initiate change and to resolve issues related to academic services and curriculum requirements.
Maintains program usage statistics analyzes data, and prepares reports.
Researches, develops and applies technology to support advising programs and services.
Develops procedures to ensure activities of program are consistent with the legal requirements and professional standards. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Thorough understanding of the Villanova Universitys mission and culture, as well as the College of Professional Studies mission and vision.
Performs other duties and assists with projects as assigned.
Bachelors Degree required.
At least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Advising and practice principles. Student development theory. Knowledge of general curriculum requirements.
At least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. At least 1 year coordinating the work of others or equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Adaptability, lead and collaborate with team members. Excellent organization to maintain timelines and meet deadlines. Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
Proficient experience in Microsoft software applications, Banner and reporting practices, CRM (customer relationship management).
Masters Degree preferred.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours Special projects and events during evenings and weekends.
