Position Summary The Associate Director of Graduate Business Alumni Engagement will support the programs and initiatives of the Villanova School of Business Graduate and Executive Programs Office. The Associate Director will advance alumni programs with the goals of increasing alumni engagement, providing tangible benefits to alumni, and developing support for VSB graduate students in eight master's programs: Fast-Track MBA, Flex-Track MBA, Online MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Accountancy, Master of Accounting in Analytics, Master of Science in Finance and Master of Science in Analytics (online).
Reporting to the Executive Director of Graduate Business Programs, this position will design and implement innovative alumni programs and conduct outreach to engage Graduate Business alumni, their employers, and other external stakeholders with VSB's graduate programs and other engagement efforts.
The Associate Director engenders a high level of advocacy amongst VSB graduate alumni and their employers, supporting stronger brand recognition, and engagement outcomes, including opportunities for career placement. She/he works to develop, assess, and manage other graduate stakeholder and affinity groups such as the MBA Alumni Association and EMBA Alumni Association volunteers and boards to identify and create engagement opportunities that support the efforts of graduate and executive programs and other VSB strategic initiatives, while maximizing existing engagement activities of the University.
The Associate Director will manage communication, data collection, alumni contacts to increase the quality of messaging and ensure the integrity of alumni data. This role will also measure impact and engagement of VSB Graduate alumni. In addition, the Associated Director will oversee the MBA Student Association and other relevant groups to provide a channel for the group to lead student professional, social and cultural initiatives, as well as cultivate a sense of commitment and community to the Villanova University School of Business and greater Villanova University.
This role serves as a partner to the VSB Graduate and Executive program staff and liaison to University Advancement and Alumni Relations. This position involves a high-level of collaboration with both internal department partners and University partners to identify and integrate resources in order to accomplish strategic goals and objectives. This role involves managing evening and weekend programs and requires a flexible work schedule around these events.

Duties and Responsibilities Graduate Alumni and Corporate Engagement: The Associate Director encourages and fosters a high level of advocacy amongst VSB graduate alumni, supporting stronger recruitment, brand recognition, and engagement outcomes, including opportunities for executive education. She/he develops, assesses and manages MBA Alumni Association and EMBA Alumni Association volunteers and boards and other future graduate stakeholder groups to identify and create engagement opportunities that support the efforts of graduate and executive programs and other VSB strategic initiatives, while maximizing existing engagement activities of the University.
Group and Event Management: This role will design and implement innovative alumni programs and conduct outreach to engage Graduate Business alumni, their employers, and other external stakeholders with VSBs graduate programs and other engagement efforts. The Associate Director will manage alumni affinity groups including the EMBA and MBA Alumni Associations and cultivate new Graduate Business Alumni groups that have not yet been fully leveraged. This role will also develop events, solicit speakers and lead initiatives that will aid in the development of a strong alumni community and support for current students.
Mentoring: In coordination with Graduate Career and Professional Development and the ODonnell Center, work with the MSF and MBA mentor programs and expand mentor outreach to create mentoring relationship for all Graduate Business populations. This may include managing communication and outreach plans, including regular interaction and information sharing with mentees/mentors.
Graduate Stakeholder Communications: Create and implement a plan of targeted communications to graduate stakeholders that informs constituents of graduate programs news and engagement initiatives that will increase the probability of involvement and ultimately financial support to VSB and Villanova (i.e., Life Long Learning). Become proficient in Salesforce.com, the database of record for relationship management. Provide leadership for a collaborative and coordinated engagement program that is consistent with University Advancement guidelines and procedures. Coordinate with The VSB Director of communications, VU Alumni relations and Advancement, and Graduate Career and Professional Development and the ODonnell Center as necessary.
Executive Education: Manage and enhance custom program offerings. Develop and execute program content in conjunction with customer and faculty; develop and execute program support, including proposal development, designing curriculum and program schedules, securing qualified faculty within VSB and externally, developing course content in conjunction with both customers and faculty, and corporate billing. Foster positive client relationships to ensure customer retention and program growth.
Data Collection and Measurement: Using a variety of means, the Associate Director ensures accurate and complete alumni records and build a comprehensive alumni database. This role will measure impact, engagement, and other metrics of alumni activities through data collection and other means. The Associate Director must identify and continue to update current alumni contact information and measure and report alumni engagement by tracking engagement and attendance to events and programs at VSB and the University.
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as required.
Bachelors degree required.
Knowledge of alumni relations and volunteer group management, as well as experience in operations, marketing, customer support, and relationship management.
Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative as well as perform multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and deadlines Understanding of higher education context and corporate culture.
Demonstrated professionalism in the following areas: written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills; organization and project management skills; relationship building skills; and customer service commitment.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and work in a collaborative manner.
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks, strong program and project management skills, sales and execution strengths, the ability to work independently and autonomously yet collaboratively, and the demonstration of superior written and oral communication skills preferred. This individual should possess the ability, confidence, and creativity to identify and develop solutions to known and unexpected problems independently, as well as the ability to develop and nurture relationships with faculty, alumni, students, and colleagues across the University.
Business degree from a reputable and accredited institution or commensurate corporate work experience preferred.
Advanced degree preferred.
Functional knowledge of career paths for MBA graduates, finance, accounting and analytics professionals is a plus.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours Flexibility in work schedule is required. This role involves managing evening and weekend programs and requires a flexible work schedule around these events.
