For more information, please see the department website at:http://www.qcc.cuny.edu/biologicalSciences/index.htmlReporting to the Chief CLT of the Department, the College Laboratory Technician will, in addition to the General Duties, perform the following duties: * Maintain teaching laboratories, arrange for repair of equipment and support the research efforts of the faculty. * Prepare General Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology laboratories. * Maintain inventories of supplies and equipment; preparation of orders for laboratory equipment and supplies. * Ensure safety rules are adhered to in compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations. * Work with preserved specimens. * Maintain constant communication with Course Coordinators regarding lab set-ups, lab take downs, and of any problems i.e. faculty and student concerns. * Participate in departmental and course-specific meetings as well as supporting college initiatives. * Provide advice to faculty on formulation of new experiments and advise students on assigned projects. * May be required to work some evenings and weekend hours. * Perform other related duties, as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience.
