Brown University Computing and Information Services is seeking a qualified Senior Endpoint Engineer.
The Senior Endpoint Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day work in preparing the desktop and mobile computing environment for Brown, and using enterprise tools for personal computing management. This person will develop and maintain the software build and configuration for public computing labs and facilities across the University. This position is also responsible for overseeing the acquisition and distribution of software and applications for the Brown community using a variety of distribution methods.
Bachelorâ??s degree or equivalent related job experience required
3+ years of providing desktop computing support working in a complex environment
Experience supporting many thousands of users, communicating broadly to customers, field support, diverse customer base
One or more MCP, MCSE or MCSA, or ACHDS certifications preferred
Knowledge with Mac, PC and mobile devices including software used at Brown (Office, Filemaker, computational software, etc.)
Expert knowledge supporting (computers, peripherals); proven ability to problem-solve, understand and troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend technology solutions.
Expert knowledge of electronic software distribution tools such as SMS/SCCM, Casper, and RemoteApp
Strong computing, analytical, and organizational skills; project planning and project management skills
Linux skills preferred
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written and oral communications
Excellent organizational skills; attention to details
Ability to multitask is required
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to mentor and train junior team members
