The Department of Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) invites applications from outstanding applicants for a teaching faculty position at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenure teaching track), although highly-qualified applications for Associate/Full Teaching Professor may be considered as well. A competitive salary commensurate with the rank of the position and qualifications of the candidate will be offered.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, primarily though not exclusively, at the undergraduate level, service to the department and campus, and outreach activities. Applicants must have a demonstrated record of quality teaching and hold a graduate degree, Ph.D. preferred, in Computer Science or a closely related field by the appointment start date. Candidates at the Associate/Full Teaching Professor level should have a sustained record of innovative high-quality teaching, scholarly work, and appropriate service and leadership roles. Candidates at the Full Teaching Professor level must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field by the appointment start date. The Department currently has 19 full-time faculty members as well as some joint appointments and adjunct faculty. It offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science as well as several graduate certificates and minors. The program is ABET accredited. Currently the Department has over 550 undergraduate and about 100 graduate students. Enrollment is growing significantly. The Department's current research strengths are in pervasive and mobile computing, cybersecurity and privacy, wireless and sensor networking, cyber-physical systems and smart environments, data science, computer vision and computational intelligence.
