This position provides fiscal support for programs within the Office of International Studies and ASL support units. It is responsible for the allocation of charges, revenue, and the development, reconciliation, and maintenance of assigned budgets. The Fiscal Specialist 2 works closely with the financial managers, executive directors and program staff to ensure prompt, accurate information is posted to FMS (Financial Management System) and CatPlan (Hyperion Budget System). Exercises independent judgement in interpreting and applying departmental, institutional and State policies, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance and internal control. Prepares audits, verifies, and processes final documents such as vouchers, requisitions, charge/credits and budget change forms. Performs complex spreadsheet and database functions. Provides fiscal support to faculty directed programs and activities, both local and international.
FISCAL/BUDGETARY: - Serves as primary accounts fiscal specialist for the Unit of OISP and provides fiscal support to ASL Units/Programs as assigned. - Maintains and modifies fiscal record keeping systems, databases, and spreadsheets - Captures, records, and ensures accuracy of data used by department for financial reports. - Reviews fiscal records and formulates corrections as needed. - Works with Budget Manager and supports OISP Executive Director in the budget planning process. Provides budget forecasts and financial analysis within assigned areas. - Reconciles unit budgets and works closely with the OISP Executive Director, OISP Staff and ASL assigned units maintains budgets within the universities systems of record. - Reviews purchasing documentation and contract for compliance and accuracy, reconciles against budget. . - Provide fiscal support to faculty led programs and activities, both domestic and international.. Perform reconciliations of programs. - Reviews for compliance, maintains, travel expense records. Allocates travel expenses to proper budget in support Faculty Led Programs. - Works with Student Financial Services and Registrar’s Office to assist with billing and reconciliation of issues with student accounts. - Oversees accuracy of each unit’s fiscal documents prior to authorization by Executive Director. - Verifies account numbers, speedkeys, budget and fund balances’ wire transfer information for documents such as TAs and advances, purchases, A-19s, travel vouchers and deposits.
ADMINISTRATIVE: - Regularly compiles, prepares, and provides fiscal reports to the Unit Directors including reconcilement, budget reports, and quarterly special analysis of SAEP fund balances. - Assists with development of budgets for grant or program requests. - Prepares financial reports for theExecutive Director, including multi-year forecasts, trend reports and long-term planning. - Keeps all units abreast of program fund balances. Recommends and executes budget change actions. - Assists units in compiling requests and reports related to fees.

Increasingly responsible fiscal experience
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel and Word to create and maintain financial records and correspondence.
Demonstrated experience in performing complex reconciliations.
Demonstrated evidence of interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work cooperatively and with flexibility with departments with varying program structures.
Demonstrated experience reading and applying policies, procedures, and regulations.
OR combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Experience working with PeopleSoft FMS and CS.
Experience with the CatPlan (Hyperion) Budgeting System.
Experience with data base systems.

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary:$2994/month with periodic increases up to $3907/month
Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) / PSE Bargaining Unit 4
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
