The Department of Psychology in the College of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Counseling concentration of the American Psychological Association-accredited counseling psychology doctoral program to begin August 2018.
Candidates should also demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate instruction and mentoring, and a commitment to human diversity and social justice, with the ability to advance the Department's dedication to diversity through community-engaged research, teaching, and outreach. The ideal candidate will work effectively with others and will be willing to collaborate within the Program and Department. Teaching assignments in the doctoral and undergraduate curricula will vary based on candidate interest and expertise, as well as the needs of the Program.
A PhD from an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology program is preferred, although applicants with a degree from an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) program will also be considered. Applicants should be licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Demonstrated experience working with and fostering diversity among faculty, staff, and students or strong commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required.
