UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a BUSINESS SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ANALYST, EPIC BENEFITS/AUTHORIZATION/PAYER POLICY REQUIREMENTS. This individual is both a subject matter expert and Epic systems expert who proactively identifies process and system opportunities and assists Revenue Cycle leadership in the coordination of complex projects that promote operational efficiencies and enhance system tools.
Epic Business Systems Integration and Quality group, part of Epic Revenue Cycle Operations is a newly formed department, which supports all of UW Medicine Patient Access operations. UW Medicine is comprised of UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, UW School of Medicine, and UW Physicians Network. This group is responsible for ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and Epic application which support these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the mission of patient care, research and teaching.
The UW Medicine BUSINESS SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ANALYST, EPIC BENEFITS/AUTHORIZATION/PAYER POLICY REQUIREMENTS works independently, coordinating and performing identified actions among and between all levels of revenue cycle, PFS, clinical and financial departmental staff to resolve complex issues on accounts and patient records which assure an account can be submitted correctly to the payor or make available the ability to document and report clearly.
In addition, the UW Medicine BUSINESS SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ANALYST, EPIC BENEFITS/AUTHORIZATION/PAYER POLICY REQUIREMENTS is responsible for working on issue resolution and data quality projects requiring a broad knowledge of all aspects of Epic and all related systems. This individual will perform quality assurance analysis of system issues, fixes immediate issues, redesign workflows and perform testing, and work with operational personnel to match system technical capabilities with the business requirements of UW Medicine.
Analyze business processes and procedures with a focus on system New Version Upgrades.
Proactively review and evaluate system updates and coordinate upgrade implementation, including analysis, design, operations inputs to testing and implementation are successful.
Act as project manager on small scale business systems implementation projects.
Ensure input data are highest quality necessary to produce clean claims and reduce denials created by Patient Access processes.
Define and document customer requirements.
Proactively monitor and maintain systems.
Perform problem resolution.
Develop and maintain QA documentation.
Identify error patterns and recommend training or revised workflows.
Provide regular status reporting.
Other duties, as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field AND Epic Certification required AND at least five (5) years in Patient Access positions as a lead or other similar position where analysis and problem solving skills have been demonstrated.
Working knowledge of ADT, Prelude, Cadence/Scheduling, hospital billing systems, and other systems related to Patient Access.
Demonstrated excellence in both internal and external customer interaction and written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer focus and management of customer expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in the a variety of groups.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for stated requirements.
