The Online Instructional Technologist is responsible for working with staff and faculty on the support and effective deployment of instructional technology in online course.
Essential Job Functions:
Supports faculty in the effective and appropriate use of technology for teaching online courses, including the use of the university's course management system, media, collaboration tools, etc.
Develops and conducts training workshops on instructional technology, including the development of documentation and training materials
Consults with faculty on the use and application of instructional technologies to meet student learning outcomes
Conducts online course checks before and during delivery to ensure standards are being met and to document faculty performance
Troubleshoots technology issues and escalates to information technology as needed
Keeps abreast of new technologies and strategies related to the implementation of instructional technologies and makes recommendations, as appropriate
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum of a bachelor's degree
Experience working with course management systems, technology workshop development, technology support, or other related work experience
Bachelor's degree or greater in instructional technology, instructional design, education, or a related field of study
Experience with Blackboard learning management system and/or with other educational technologies such as Camtasia, Respondus, and TurnItIn
Experience with accessibility in documents, media, and online courses
Experience working in education
