The Human Resource Leave Analyst is responsible for providing detailed leave information to members of the University community regarding the Virginia Sickness & Disability Program (VSDP), Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Virginia Tech leave polices. The incumbent serves as a resource to our clients to help them interpret the policies and ensure that they are in compliance so that their leave is used and tracked appropriately.
- Previous human resources experience or experience in a related field - Strong customer service experience - Proficiency with standard computer skills such as word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, email and internet navigation - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work in a fast paced high volume work environment - Ability to organize, plan, prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Ability to effectively interpret and disseminate policies and procedures to the public - Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, exercise sound judgment, and prepare reports - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional and support staff, contract personnel, and employment/legal representatives.
- Degree in human resources or a related field - Experience with large relational databases such as banner - Experience with web based leave reporting - Working knowledge of university and state policies and procedures - Experience with payroll, employee deductions, and human resource transactions - Strong understanding of FMLA and state leave regulations - Experience in applying and/or providing guidance on leave policies - Experience with Peopleadmin
